Meet The Team
Kara Montminy, PA-C
Kara’s medical career began in 1993 when she became a certified nurse’s assistant at her local nursing home in Crosby, North Dakota. She attended the University of North Dakota on a Nursing scholarship. Kara earned a Bachelor’s in Cardiopulmonary Science and became a Respiratory Therapist in 1998. After working as an RT for several years, she continued following her passion for people, health, and wellness and obtained her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies from Nova Southeastern University, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Kara has now been a Board-Certified Physician Assistant since 2008.
Although Kara always knew she wanted to focus her career on plastic and reconstructive surgery and aesthetics, finding a position within the plastic surgery specialty is notoriously difficult right out of school. So, she started working as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist Physician Assistant and worked at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. After several years, she transitioned to the Lung Transplant team until leaving UMMC when an opportunity presented itself for Kara to join the staff of a prominent plastic surgery group in the Twin Cities area. During her years with this practice, she was able to continue her medical education and learn the best and latest aesthetic practices.
When Kara isn’t making someone feel confident and beautiful, you may find her volunteering at her kids schools, training for a marathon, or camping with her family and friends.
